At Blooming Buds, we follow a theme-based curriculum which uses key documents from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as its framework. The underpinning philosophy of the EYFS is that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right.


Good parenting, together with high quality early learning, provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.


With an emphasis on learning through play, our curriculum provides learning opportunities through various activities including:

•Creative play and cooking

•Outdoor art

•Dramatic play

•Library time

•Arabic & Islamic studies*



*Islamic studies is offered to those children aged 3-4 of Muslim faith


*French lessons are offered for the Brave Buds and Brainy Blooms age groups.


At Blooming Buds, the teaching staff produces lesson plans for each day of the week which are used as a guide of intended learning for every indoor and outdoor activity. These plans are linked to the key EYFS documents to ensure that they are embedded in purposeful play.
